In the original slipcase and in the original shrinkwrap plastic, blue cloth to both with the Authors signature to the title page. Herbert Erik Tillander (1909 - 2006) was a Finnish Consul General, a jeweller and CEO. He was Managing Director of A. Tillander Oy from 1939 to 1974.He developed an internationally used diamond grading scale. Tillander graduated from education in Helsinki in 1927 and was a trainee between 1930 and 1933 in Stockholm, Frankfurt, Paris and London. He graduated as a goldsmith at the Gemmological Association in the United States and in 1937 at the Gemmological Institute of America in the United States, and at the Finnish Goldsmith in 1949. In the 1960s, Tillander developed the so-called Nordic Diamond Nomenclature and Classification because the classifications developed in the United States did not fully meet local needs. He also published other works on gemstones as well as genealogy Torppa and Diamond: Chronicle of the Tillander Family (1990).
