2001 SP Legendary Cuts Cards Mickey Mantle Autograph Signature 1/8 Yankees

  

For sale is a Mickey Mantle 2001 SP Legendary Cut Card - Numbered 1/8. This card is really rare since only 8 of these were included in this iconic set!

I have not seen one of these for sale in many years, and it's safe to assume most all are locked up in private collections. But what's really special about this card is the vintage Mantle signature. Mickey's signature varied over the years; his M's changed shapes with the more recent signatures having the famous half-moon shaped M's.

This signature is pre-1960's and in my opinion, circa 1954, making is very rare. It's very difficult to find vintage Mantle signatures much less featured on a cut card issued by SP in this Legendary Set! Feel free to do some research for yourself though. There is a good bit of literature on the internet about Mickey's signature variance over time. Most of the available autographs on the market are post-1960.
